A United States based technology entrepreneur and founder of home healthcare technology company, Axxess, Niyi Olajide, has said that Nigeria is the hub for the best brains in the IT sector and software development.
while expressing his commitment to creating a lasting solution to home healthcare delivery across the world, he said this was to curtail the massive outsourcing of medical assistance to foreigners and medical tourism.
According to a statement, Olajide started his dream of creating a global healthcare technology after graduation from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Bachelor of Science degree in telecommunications engineering.
The statement said the firm has expanded to North America, Asia, Europe, Australia and Africa, with over 1,200 employees from over 45 countries.

It said the company also launched Cavista Technology, a home healthcare technology company that provides a complete suite of innovative, cloud-based software and services, while empowering the healthcare industry with powerful yet easy-to-use solutions in Lagos.

Speaking on the country’s ability to leverage brain capital, Olajide said, “Nigeria is the hub for the best brains in the IT sector and software development. Our country is blessed with highly cerebral youths who can create solutions that will reduce medical tourism and save us forex to further strengthen our economy and healthcare delivery system. Nigerians spend billions of naira on medical tourism annually.”
He added, “We can curb this using technological solutions created by our youth. Nigerian youths are doing great things with limited resources when it comes to all aspects of software development, robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and the rest.”
According to him, passion for creative health solutions gave birth to “My interest in partnering with Cavista Nigeria. Today, Cavista is creating solutions to the challenging issues of health care delivery in Nigeria and employing great young minds to solve problems, rather than allowing them to leave Nigeria to use their skills to develop in another country.”
Olajide explained that he was simply contributing his quota to ensure sustainable growth and opportunities for job creation in the economy.
