SDCOE Partnership Provides Transitional Kindergarten Pathway Program – San Diego County Office of Education

If you have a heart for teaching California’s youngest learners entering the public school system, then read on to learn more about the SDCOE Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Pathway Program for multiple-subject credentialed teachers. It's part of the SDCOE Educator Pathways offerings to support new and future TK educators.
The TK Pathway Program is a nine-month series from September through April in partnership with the University of San Diego (USD) that provides qualified teachers with the early childhood education units required to teach TK. Upon completion, participants may be eligible to obtain a Site Supervisor Child Development Permit, which is one option to teach TK.
SDCOE, in partnership with University of San Diego, is hosting the pathway program, which offers the option of completing 12 units in nine months or six units in four months. Courses will be hybrid synchronous/asynchronous, with two-hour virtual live sessions twice a month, and independent work the rest of the time. SDCOE will offset the cost of textbooks and the license for the use of Canvas Portal.
After you register, each candidate will be notified and asked to provide additional information before receiving their registration confirmation. Once registration is confirmed, payment information will be shared.
Course dates run from September 2022 through April 2023.
The deadline to register is Aug. 20. Contact the SDCOE Early Education team at sdcoetkpathway@sdcoe.net with questions.
