These 6 African Startups Received Funding From Digital Transformation Challenge – Tech Build Africa

Six African startups received awards from the Digital Transformation Challenge for Africa in Paris. Startups, VCs, development finance organizations, and corporations converged in Paris for the “Corporates x Innovation” program’s acceleration and the establishment of fresh, sustainable businesses and industries in Africa.
With a team of experts, a panel discussion was convened to examine what could be done to build stronger mobility and healthcare industries in Africa by 2050.
6 business owners were selected from a group of more than 240, delivered excellent presentations, and shared seven rewards from three sponsors.
Here are the 6 startups that scooped the Digital Transformation Challenge fund:
Zuri Health was founded by Ikechukwu Anoke. Through Zuri Health, patients in Sub-Saharan Africa can schedule lab and diagnostic tests, speak with a doctor, purchase medication from a pharmacy, and have a doctor visit them at home. Its goal is to offer accessible and cheap healthcare solutions through mobile apps, WAP, and SMS services.
With over 65% of the population lacking access to smartphones or the internet, Zuri Health delivers First-Level Medical Consultations via an SMS service in recognition of the particular issues facing Africa.
The underserved population now has access to inexpensive, sustainable healthcare thanks to Zuri Health. To help with the provision of healthcare services, Zuri Health is seeking partnerships with licensed healthcare organizations and mobile operators.
Waspito, a company founded by Jean Lobe Lobe in 2020, allows people to instantly video consult with doctors using their cellphones.
Additionally, it offers mobile laboratory services, where a lab worker collects samples from a user’s house and delivers digital results.
In order to promote the usage of telehealth, Waspito is tying together Africa’s healthcare ecosystem through a social network with a health-focused audience.
As a result, increase the availability of trustworthy information about preventative care across the continent. In essence, Waspito offers customers a fun platform where they may communicate anonymously with doctors and other patients about health issues that interest them in addition to teleconsultations, mobile laboratory, and pharmacy services.
Susu, a startup with the goal of making healthcare accessible and inexpensive for every African, was founded and led by Bola Bardet.
Susu offers care bundles or care packages to people with chronic illnesses including diabetes and hypertension as well as pregnant women who require close supervision and preventative advice in order to live their best lives while dealing with their conditions.
Susu is a unique platform in that it offers a community financing option through which family members can help patients pay their monthly membership charges through care packages in addition to providing them with the ability to do so.
Tibu Health comes to your home and eliminates the lengthy lines and inefficiencies that plague Kenya’s healthcare system.
The technology decentralizes primary outpatient care by matching patients with healthcare professionals carrying medicinal supplies, and it also enables patients to have their medical information encrypted and securely saved on their TIBU application.
The doctors at Tibu Health are able to write prescriptions, and the company’s collaboration with a few pharmacies enables quick prescription delivery.
If these partner pharmacies are not open, patients may pick up their medications elsewhere. Patients are directed to the closest hospital for surgery.
Drive To Own was created with the express purpose of elevating drivers who have been using their boss’s car for “drive to pay” services like special hire, Uber, Bolt, and others for years.
Without having the opportunity to purchase the car they have been driving. Here is a potential for you to become your own employer merely in two to three years you can be owning the same automobile you are given to drive through the drive-to-own project.
A fleet management firm called Fleetsimplify assists non-driver car owners in the ride-hailing apps to profit without concern.
Consider it this way: Fleetsimplify is to ride-hailing applications what Pillow and Hostmaker are to AirBnB in terms of concierge and hospitality management firms.
To find insurance plans, track and monitor maintenance, and link vehicle fleet owners with potential drivers, FleetSimplify is a customizable fleet management tool.
